Jenell Eck McHenry of Agpert Services LLC has been hired by the Maryland Agriculture Council (MAC) Board of Directors to support the effective management of the Council’s programs, events and communications.
She will work closely with Executive Director Susan G. Summers and Assistant Executive Director Gail P. Yeiser to organize the many details of the Taste of Maryland Agriculture, as well as other Board missions.
“We are pleased to have Jenell as part of our team and feel lucky to get someone of her caliber to help us fulfill our mission to ensure and promote a viable Maryland agricultural industry,” said MAC President Robert C. “Robbie” Miller. “As the Council evolves and grows, its mission has become even more important. Adding Jenell to our leadership will ensure our success for years to come.”
Jenell and her husband, Joey, own and operate McHenry's Beef and Harvesting in Kennedyville with their son, Lee. Jenell is also the Executive Director of Mid-Atlantic 4R Nutrient Stewardship Association and is a sales representative for Stine Seed.
The University of Delaware graduate has an impressive resume, formerly working with other agricultural organizations such as Maryland Grain Producers Association and Utilization Board, Maryland Pork Producers and Mid-Atlantic Certified Crop Advisors. She also worked for the Maryland Department of Agriculture, UMD Extension and National Chicken Council.

Jenell is currently chairperson of the Maryland Young Farmers Board, representing them on the Maryland Agriculture Commission, and is a board member for the Kent County Farm Bureau. She has been on the Maryland Agriculture Council Board for two years.
Her long list of accomplishments includes the Farm Credit Farmer on the Rise recipient, Collegiate Young Farmer Discussion Meet National Sweet 16, Miss Maryland Agriculture and Maryland FFA President.
“The opportunity to work with the Maryland Agriculture Council and staff will be an experience of a lifetime,” Jenell said. “I am looking forward to continuing to serve the Maryland agricultural industry and make an impact for our state’s farmers and our future.”
The Council is best known for organizing the annual Taste of Maryland Agriculture on the first Thursday of February. The premier gala brings together agricultural leaders with state and national legislators to promote agriculture and educate lawmakers about its importance to the state’s economy and its people.
